Ford Escape Trim Levels

Ford Escape Trim Levels

The Ford Escape is a stylish and reliable SUV, versatile enough for a day on the trail or a night on the town. However, which trim level offers everything you need for your drives around the Indianapolis area?

Andy Mohr Ford put together this Ford Escape trim level review to help Plainfield and Brownsburg area drivers decide.

Escape Active

The Escape Active is the starting point for the lineup and a good fit for shoppers who want the Escape's practical size and everyday versatility without paying for a long list of premium upgrades. It comes with a 1.5L EcoBoost engine, available all-wheel drive, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 6-way manual driver's seat, and SYNC 4 with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert is also standard.

Escape ST-Line

The ST-Line adds a sportier look without moving all the way into the higher-priced trims. It uses the 1.5L EcoBoost engine and can be equipped with available AWD, while adding 18-inch Rock Metallic wheels, a black mesh grille, rear spoiler, flat-bottom steering wheel, sport-contour seats, and red stitching. It's a natural choice for drivers who want more distinctive styling while keeping the Escape's everyday practicality.

Escape ST-Line Select

The Ford Escape ST-Line Select steps up to more comfort and powertrain flexibility. It offers either the 2.0L EcoBoost or hybrid powertrain with standard AWD, along with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, remote start and a power liftgate.

Escape ST-Line Elite

The ST-Line Elite combines the sporty ST-Line design with some of the Escape's more advanced technology and premium features. A 2.0L EcoBoost or hybrid powertrain is available with standard AWD, while standard equipment includes a 13.2-inch center display, 10-way power driver's seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, and wireless charging. Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ with Adaptive Cruise Control and connected navigation are also included.

Escape Platinum

The Ford Escape Platinum is the more upscale choice in the standard Escape lineup. It pairs a 2.0L EcoBoost or hybrid powertrain with standard AWD and adds ActiveX-trimmed seats, heated front seats and steering wheel, a 10-way power driver's seat, wireless charging, and a 13.2-inch center display. Exterior upgrades include 19-inch Ebony-painted machined-face wheels, chrome beltline molding and LED fog lamps.

Escape Plug-in Hybrid

The Escape Plug-in Hybrid takes a different approach to the lineup, pairing a 2.5L Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with a plug-in hybrid system and standard front-wheel drive. It includes an 8-way power driver's seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, power liftgate, and Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist+ with Adaptive Cruise Control. With its ability to use electric power, gasoline, or a combination of both, this trim is the one to consider if reducing fuel use is a primary reason for choosing an Escape.
