Depending on your line of work here in the Plainfield, Indianapolis, and Avon areas, you may need one extra tough vehicle to get the job done. Fortunately, the Ford lineup is rounded out by some excellent commercial models.

We keep all the best commercial vehicles in stock here at Andy Mohr Ford. Read on to learn more about the Ford commercial fleet.

The Ford F-Series

2018 Ford F-150 450.jpgMost of us are familiar with the Ford F-150. Compared to many other pickup trucks in its class, it’s far ahead of the pack, making it a hugely popular choice for anyone interested in a new work truck.

For commercial purposes, you can also consider numerous other trucks in the Ford F-Series family. These include:

  • The F-250SD
  • The F-350SD
  • The F-450SD
  • The F-550SD

The higher up you go in this family, the more brawn you’ll have—and that means higher speeds and bigger towing capacities. The F-550SD even offers a chassis option, if you have different hauling needs.

The Ford Police Interceptor

Having designed police vehicles since the 1950s, Ford has a pretty solid idea of what our officers need to stay safe and vigilant while out on the beat.

Coming in both sedan and SUV models, the Ford Police Interceptor comes with special reinforcements to keep officers safe.

Their Level III and Level IV+ ballistic door panels are thickened and fortified to withstand special threat rounds. They also come with a heavy-duty subframe for added protection.

Performance-wise, the standard 3.6L V6 engine, calibrated for police work, and the specially-tuned suspension means officers can cruise to the scene of the crime without undue wear to their vehicle.

The Ford Transit

2018FordTransit.jpgThe Ford Transit is a great choice if you’re looking to build a commercial van fleet. If your job requires you to carry large quantities of cargo regularly (or several passengers), then the Transit is an ideal match.

The Transit family is comprised of the 150, 250, and 350. Essentially, these vans have the same capabilities and features. The biggest different is the sizing. For each, you can add a different roof height, which can greatly increase the amount of cargo you’re able to carry. Different wheelbases and body lengths are also available.

While the rear of the Transit can be enhanced with added utility features—say, shelving for your tools and gear—you’ll find that the front of the vehicle still has plenty of driver comforts and amenities.

Available SYNC® 3, in particular, makes it easy to stream media, all while utilizing the apps necessary to make it to and from the job site.
