2018 Ford Edge Review

Ford Edge Power & Performance 

The Ford Edge is available with one of three different engine options, so you can opt for the power you need. Each engine is paired with a trim level. The base engine is a 2.0L 4-cylinder that makes 245 horsepower and is EPA-estimated to achieve 20 city/29 highway MPG. The next option is a 3.5L V6 that makes 280 horsepower and gets and EPA-estimated 17 city/26 highway MPG, which comes with the SEL and Titanium trim levels. Finally, there's the powerful 2.7L twin-turbocharged V6 that pumps out 315 horsepower, which earns 17 city/24 highway MPG, and is paired with the Edge Sport trim level. A 6-speed automatic transmission is paired with all three engine options. Front-wheel drive is standard, or you can upgrade to all-wheel drive for better road grip and control.

2018 Ford Edge Interior

This SUV seats five on standard cloth upholstery. A 6-way manual driver's seat and 4-way manual passengers seat are standard, and the rear seat folds 60/40. For extra luxury and comfort, add options such as leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a heated steering wheel, and 10-way power adjustable front seats. In the front seats, there's 40.2 inches of headroom and 42.6 inches of legroom. Rear-seat passengers will have 40.3 inches of headroom and 40.6 inches of legroom, which makes it comfortable and spacious even for tall adults. With all five seats in use, there's 39.2 ft³ of cargo space in the trunk. Fold the rear seats forward, and you'll have access to a total of 73.4 ft³ of cargo capacity.

The 2018 Edge comes with a 4.2-inch touchscreen display with the SYNC® infotainment system. Bluetooth® is standard, so you can access your music and contacts and even make hands-free phone calls with ease. A USB port allows you to charge up your devices, and there's useful smartphone app integration for even more connectivity. A rearview camera is standard, so it's simple and safe to reverse in a crowded parking lot. A proximity key, push button start, and Ford's MyKey safety system for teen drivers all come standard.
