Ford Tire Store in Plainfield IN
Tire Shop Near Me
Is it getting close to the time that you need to start thinking about new tires? You may be nodding your head as you're reading this, or you may be asking how you can tell. Well, don't worry! At Andy Mohr Ford, we're here to help our drivers in the Plainfield, Indianapolis, and Avon areas figure out when they need to get their vehicles into our tire shop.
How to Tell if You Need New Tires
- Low Treads– Take a look at your tires. Are they wearing down? You'll be able to tell this with the penny test. Put a penny in your treads with the head facing down. If you can see the top of the head, your treads are too low and it's time to get new tires.
- Loss of Traction– Have you noticed that your tires aren't gripping the roads the way they should anymore? Are rainy days getting a little dicey because you slide when you don't want to? This is an indicator that you may need new tires.
- Improper Tread Wear– If you're looking at your tires, do they look bald in some areas and in some areas not? This is called improper tread wear and it means it's not only time for a visit to our tire shop, but you may need an alignment, balancing, or some other tire service to determine why they're wearing that way.
