Community Spotlight: Anderson Orchard

Around 50 years ago, the Anderson Family first started the Anderson Orchard. Throughout that time, they have provided a way for the surrounding communities to enjoy apples grown right in their backyard.

With over 150 acres, the orchard today grows a range of produce and also has a variety of other products for you to check out in their retail store. At Anderson Orchard, you can pick your own apples and have your pie too!

How Do You Like Them Apples?

When you stop by Anderson Orchard, you can shop inside their Apple Barn and enjoy all things apples. Here, they have a variety of fresh apples they grown themselves on their orchard. Depending on the time of the year, you can find range of apple types.

They have everything from the sweet bite of a Red Delicious to the tart crunch of a Granny Smith to the Jonathan, which is perfect for the next pie you want to bake. They also make their own fresh apple cider to enjoy, and they have homemade apple butter as well, which goes perfect on toast in the morning.

You can also stop over to their concession stand and treat yourself to one of their caramel apples or a cider slush, which is a refreshing way to cool off on a hot day. Beyond all the apple products, they also have other fruits and a variety of vegetables in their Apple Barn.

Take Your Pick

Bring the kids with you, or plan your next date out picking apples as well as other produce. You can take a look at what apples they currently have available on their Facebook page beforehand and head out to pick as many apples as you would like.

When the season is right, you can also find red raspberries and blue plums ready to be picked! Then, when the fall hits, they will have their pumpkin patch open. Whether you are looking for festive decoration, a fresh pumpkin to cook with, or supplies to throw a carving party with the kids, you can find the pumpkins you need within their patch.

Join Them for One of Their Annual Events

Each year, Anderson Orchard hosts a variety of events. Their Apple Festival & Craft Fair has a range of craft vendors, apple-themed foods, and fun activities for the kids. Make sure you try their mouthwatering homemade apple cobbler with ice cream as you check out each crafter’s tent!

They also host an annual October Fest. The kids will have a ton of fun playing on the various inflatables and bouncing on the double bungee trampoline. They also have live animals they can pet, face painting, and train rides during October Fest. The whole family can jump on for a hayride together while sipping on their hot apple cider.
