Engine Options in the Ford Focus

Conservation of fuel is achieved by all the powertrains available with the Ford Focus, but the exact mileage of this car will slightly differ depending on the engine that is equipped in the car.

• The standard engine is the 2.0L Ti-VCT I-4 engine that produces 160 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque.
• The available 1.0L EcoBoost® that creates 123 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque features Auto Start Stop Technology. This system will automatically shut your engine off when stopped and then restart it once you start moving again to save even more on fuel.

There is also the available 2.0L EcoBoost® and 2.3L EcoBoost® engines for a sportier performance. The available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine generates 252 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. The available 2.3L EcoBoost® engine will supply the Focus with up to 350 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque.

Ford Focus Fuel Economy

With the standard 2.0L engine, the Focus will achieve an EPA-estimated 25 city/34 highway MPG.* This engine even gets slightly better mileage in the SE Hatch trim level with an EPA-estimated 26 city/38 highway MPG.*

• When powered by the available 1.0L EcoBoost® engine, the fuel economy of the Focus jumps up to an EPA-estimated 30 city/40 highway MPG.*
• Even with one of the more powerful engines, the Ford Focus still gets great gas mileage. The 2.0L EcoBoost® that comes with the Focus ST achieves an EPA-estimated 22 city/30 highway MPG.*
• The Focus RS, which is equipped with the 350-horsepower 2.3L EcoBoost® engine, gets an EPA-estimated 19 city/26 highway MPG.*
